Anyways... here's some pictures of our trip to the Santa Barbara Zoo. Even though it took about an hour to get there the drive was totally and completely worth it. I think hwy 101 (and hwy 1) have to be my all time favorite places to drive ever. From our house it was a lovely drive through the country side, overflowing with orange, lemon and lime trees, scattered with a bunch of old houses, churches and a few old school houses that were built around 1902. Shortly after that you meet face to face with the pacific ocean and follow it parallel all the way up to Santa Barbara. I would take that drive everyday if I could it was so beautiful. I so would have taken some pictures to show you, but it would have not done the drive justice.
The zoo itself was a lot smaller than the LA Zoo, but you can't beat the fact the scenery around you is so much better. As you'll be able to see from the picture with the giraffe, the ocean is right there always in the background. I think we might have to take a trip back there sometime soon just to go wander.
