Another Saturday spent outside...

I don't know of any better way to spend a Saturday than outside exploring some crazy place we've never been too. Ben wanted to go have a picnic somewhere outside and I wanted to check out some places that are near by our house that we've never seen. So, we ended up at Vasquez Rocks. The area is absolutely breath taking (and it was only 15 minutes away... I love being so close to the middle of nowhere)! If the place looks somewhat familiar, it's because it's been used in a million movies and it was also the home of Bonanza.

Looking at my pictures somehow the magnitude and depth of the place gets extremely lost. The area is humongous and it is completely open space, so you can literally go anywhere you want to walk, hike, or horseback to. It was perfect for our little, independent Lizzie, who wanted to walk everywhere (until she got tired that is). It was flat for the most part and it was extremely easy for her to climb on all the rocks. She seemed to enjoy herself quite a bit and so did the rest of us.
