6 Month Update...

I can't believe my little one is 6 months old already! Abby did great at her well-baby check-up and passed with flying colors. She's still thinks she a couple months older than she really is and once again her pediatrician was amazed at what she could already do. As you can see from the pictures below Abby is sitting independently now and has been loving the view from her new found perspective. She has 2 bottom teeth already too, and with those new teeth the start of finger foods. Yay, real food not out of a jar! That girl will eat anything. To be honest I'm not quite use to it... Lizzie is the pickiest eater I know (next to her dad that is) and Abby, well it doesn't seem to matter to her, just as long as it's edible. Well, even if it's not she'll still try and eat it. She's such an oral gratification girl with all the thumb sucking, chewing on every toy and blanket, and putting whatever she can find straight into her mouth. We've been trying to teach Lizzie to keep her toys out of Abby's reach otherwise she might not ever see them again. Abby's not crawling yet, but she does get up on all fours and rocks back and forth, quite violently sometimes, with her little behind way up in the air. So cute. My world will be completely and totally crazy once she starts crawling , so I'm enjoying every day she's stationary! ;)

Here's Abby's stats from her latest appointment...
Height - 26 3/4in, weight - 20.10 oz, and her head measured in at 43 1/4 cm.

An Afternoon Poolside...

So, I know it's been awhile... life has gotten the better part of my free time lately. I know, I know... lame excuse, but it's all I have at the moment. ;)

Anyways, awhile back (before our pool was closed for what seemed to be the whole month of July) the girls and I ventured out to the pool all by ourselves one afternoon. For some reason I was feeling exceptionally brave that day, and we ended up having a great time. Both the girls did wonderful and I think Abby is finally starting to like the water. There's no way I would have gone alone if we didn't have a kiddie pool though. There was quite a few moms there that particular day and it ending up being a great way to meet some of our neighbors, one of them even went to our church... such a small world.

Lizzie's Birthday Cake

A bit long, but a pretty funny snippet from Lizzie's actual birthday night.

My Two Favorite Pictures...

These were taken very last minute at the end of a very long day of waking up early to go to church, and then a birthday party, with a few stops in between (and an even longer day because we had life group right after the party... whew). I absolutely love these pictures though... just the way she's standing with her head slightly bent... priceless. Ben and I have pretty gorgeous kids, that's for sure! They look way cooler full size, so feel free to click on them and make them bigger. ;)

Bug Party...

So, the long awaited bug birthday party pictures are finally posted! Hooray! The party was the Sunday after her birthday, just down the street from us at a local park, with lost of glorious shade. It was a fairly simple party; a couple friends, some cupcakes, a little buggy type craft, and plenty of little bugs to play with (thanks to Auntie Heidi), plus the playground at the park. Lizzie picked out the theme for her party... I can't believe the bugs won over SpongeBob or Dora, but they did, and I'm very glad they did! ;)

The girls amassing their bug armies

Oh, no... where it go?

Craft time - They got to make their very own bugs

Time to blow out the candles!
I made the cupcakes too... aren't they cute little ladybugs?
We had butterflies and worms cupcakes too.

All exhausted at the end of the day!

Lizzie's Birthday Day...

I can't believe Lizzie's 3 years old now! It's crazy how fast time goes by. I wish I could just freeze time and keep her at 3 for a couple of years because she's so much fun now... not that she wasn't fun before, but you know what I mean. On her actually day it was pretty low key, we went to IHOP for breakfast with a couple of our friends and had sausage and chocolate chip pancakes, afterwards we went and wandered the mall, helped make a birthday cake, and then just chilled out at home until Ben got home. We had dinner, opened some more presents, and of course we had to have some birthday cake. Happy birthday Lizzie!

She looks so old already in this picture!

Memorial Day Weekend...

Ah, holiday weekends... Ben's home an extra day, it just happened to be Lizzie's birthday weekend, and it was cloudy and cold (well cold for down here anyways)! We open some presents over the weekend because Ben wanted to play with her new toys, so Lizzie got to celebrate a little early. She got all kinds of fun stuff, but I couldn't snap enough pictures to show it all before the camera shut down on me... sorry mom. (My camera is completely lame lately and the battery will not hold a charge anymore. We haven't replaced the one that was broken from when we went camping so long ago, so we're still using the really quirky one we had before Lizzie was born). Anyways it was a really nice weekend... more to come of Lizzie's actual birthday and her party soon. I still have to process all those pictures.

Lizzie's ladybug land. You can actually grow real bugs in there.

At the park flying a kite for the very first time.

Oh, did you notice what Lizzie's wearing the in the pictures above? That's right... big girl underwear. Our little girl is potty trained now and only wears a pull-up at night. She's doing really well. We've only had a couple accidents here and there, but that's to be expected. We've even gone on multiple trips to different places in just the undies and only once did we not make it. Yay, no more diapers!
