Mmm... Sweet Potatoes...

Abby's eating solid foods now, yay! Hopefully we'll start going through less formula now... man that would be nice. ;) Abby has been eating rice cereal now for a couple of weeks, and after eying all of us every time we eat and pretending to chew along with us, we decided to start her on some big girl food. Sweet potatoes was our first choice, not too sweet yet just sweet enough to keep her interested, plus it's a veggie (and the only one Lizzie would ever eat when she was that little). Who wants their first taste of real food to be peas or something gross like that?! Anyways, it barely took Abby a couple bites to get use to the texture and she's a pro already, eating half a little jar every time (and we just started on Saturday), she was more than ready for an upgrade I guess. I am thoroughly convinced that the little girl thinks she's a month older than she really is.

It's crazy... organic baby food is the same if not cheaper than Gerber. I don't think there was even an organic option when Lizzie was that little. Things change fast in the baby world I guess.

This look just kills me and I get it quite a bit from her! It's the "come on mom, do you really have to stop, I'm waiting on you" look. ;)

The Big Bug Hunt...

Lizzie's latest obsession... bugs! It doesn't matter what kind (or if they're even still alive) just as long it was a bug at some point in its teeny, tiny life span. It's all she talks about lately... bug this, bug that, mommy found a ladybug, baby found a beetle, etc... it's quite cute actually. We have this awesome bike/walking trail right by our new house that's just full of all kinds of fun stuff. So it seems like every weekend we all go out and hunt for bugs, or as Ben likes to call it "saving the bugs from the bikes". We've found ladybugs, spiders, beetles - which I think are stink bugs, they're huge, ants, lizards (of course they don't end up in the jar), and all sorts of other things. Lizzie loves putting them in her little jar and then when we're all done we let them all go in front of our house. Most of them seem to make it out alive! ;)

We Have an Outside Now...

Yay... an area to play outside connected to our very own place that's not 2 stories high above the ground and teeny, tiny! No grass, but that's actually alright. Lizzie has her sandbox out there, her ride on cars, some sidewalk chalk (since it's all concrete except one little strip for the dog), and of course her bubble maker stuff. Lizzie loves it and is outside everyday. I love it too because I can just open the door right off the dining room/kitchen and let her loose. Now I can finally tell her to go play outside... it's so fantastic! ;)
