Way Too Long!

Ok, so totally my bad for not updating this better. You have to excuse my complete lack of attention due to moving, adjusting and the holidays, but now things should be more on a normal basis (if normal truly does exist)! Here's some of my most current picks of Little Lizzie (who's not so little anymore) from just this last weekend. More to come... I promise. ;)

Oh Christmas Tree...

So, this weekend we finally decorated for Christmas. After moving, unpacking boxes and all sorts of stuff unfamiliar I really wanted to decorate the house for Christmas. Plus it's really hard to be in the spirit of the holidays when it's sunny and nice outside (it just feels slightly not right). I had to do some major arm twisting with a ridiculous amount of begging, because Ben didn't want to have anything to do with it. His weekends are apparently "sacred" now and the last thing he wanted to do was unpack some more boxes and set up a tree just to repack in a bunch of boxes in a couple of weeks. If it was just the two of us I don't think he would have agreed, but because of the baby (yea, Lizzie) I finally convinced Ben that it would be fun and she'd get a kick out of it. He agreed under one condition, that no Christmas music would be played...ever. So, we set up our glorious fake tree, to the sounds of Delirious?, put lights in the window by the kitchen table and set up our Playmobil nativity set. As you can see in the pictures below Lizzie had a great time and so did we.

Our Little Tiger...

Here she is... our very own little tiger. Once again Halloween is an uneventful evening for us. Since we live on a dead end street, tucked back in a corner on the hill we haven't even had one trick or treater stop by all night. Besides Lizzie's not quite old enough to really enjoy getting dressed up and go trick or treating herself yet, but it's still fun to see her run around in a costume whether she knows she's in one or not. I'm sure next year will probably be a completely different story! Here's some pictures, she didn't want to stay still for a second, but you get the ideal. Lizzie just wanted to play and didn't understand why in the world I had the camera out.

She' Walking

So, some of you have seen this already, but for those of you who haven't yet here you go.

She can do it....

Yea! Lizzie is finally walking on a more consistent basis now. She's still not walking exclusively, but it is more frequent and she finally does it in the presence of others. Before she was very shy about it. I don't know if she was unsure of herself, wanted to practice in private, or just didn't want to be embarrassed when she fell. Who knows... I have been waiting for the day she gives up crawling for sometime now. She's too big (and lanky, she's a tall little girl) to carry around all the time and she wants to get down every time we're out somewhere (like Safeway, Target etc). But I know the moment I put her down she'll crawl... not walk. Hopefully soon she'll make the switch.

She's a funny girl, she definitely has her preferences when it comes to everything. If Lizzie's sitting in a shopping cart she doesn't like to sit the "normal" way with her legs through the little holes facing me. She has to sit sideways so she can see what going on around her and still be able to see daddy or myself. It's pretty amazing that she knows already how to manipulate her environment to get exactly what she wants. One smart little girl we have here!

Our new ride...

Here she is... why are cars always girls? Anyways, this is our new (to us) '99 Dodge Neon with 4 doors and air conditioning (yes)! You can all image how incredibly excited I am right now (thanks mom)! Today was the first "official" day of having a second car. Granted we did go pick it up on Friday night, but Ben was home all weekend so it didn't make much difference. But today... oh man was it nice. We were able to go to the park in the afternoon, while everyone else was still in school, and enjoy the sunshine. Lizzie gets easily bored with her surroundings, so being able to get out of the house is priceless (plus it helps my sanity too). So we played at the park, went for a drive and even stopped at Safeway. It's crazy to be able to do that stuff before 9pm. So many things I get to do now... mom's group, baby entertaining, errand running, and maybe even a bible study. So nice!

Baby's got chompers and the "yuckies"...

I didn't realize until she bit me the other day that she had chompers (better know in the real world as molars) already. Lizzie has 2 of them now, and working on another one at the present moment. I know, how could I miss such a thing? I guess I'm not as observant as I would like to think. I blame it on a lot of things, but I think I was more preoccupied with being sick.

This last week was actually the first time Lizzie has been really sick. She's had an ear infection before, but we caught it early enough for her not to really notice. But, not this. It was the very first time that I had the wonderful opportunity to clean up toddler yuckies (I don't quite know how to say it without sounding gross and without actually saying the word). Anyways, lets just say I was not prepared at all and we have no stash of empty cool whip containers anywhere in our house. She had the yuckies for 2 whole days. Lizzie ended up having the stomach flu and there was nothing to do but wait it out (got to love it). The best part of it all was as soon as she felt better I got really sick, too. Fun times it was in our house last week, and of course Ben didn't get it at all (lucky duck)! Good thing too. He's got a lot of stuff to get done this week.

So, the yuckies have come and gone, hopefully to never return again (at least for a long, long time), and everything is back to how it should be.
