My Little Girls aren't so Little...

So this last weekend was quite the weekend in our household. My two little girls don't feel quite so little anymore and it makes really sad and excited all at the same time. On Friday night Lizzie willing gave over her pacifiers... all of them! We put them in a big manila envelope and sent them off to the pacifier fairy, who will then deliver her precious binkies to little babies who need them more than she does. I was totally shocked and amazed at how incredibly easy it was for Lizzie to get rid of them. If anyone knows her, you know how attached she is to her pacifiers, but she was all for the ideal of being a big girl and helping others. I think Ben and I were more traumatized by the whole ordeal than she was. I don't know why, but we've just seen her for so long always with them and now she seems so grown up... only babies use pacifier and I'm sad she's not my little baby anymore.

In return for handing them over Lizzie got her very first video game that's especially designed for toddlers. It's called Smart Girl's Playhouse. Its got memory, coloring, puzzles, free-form drawing, whack-a-mole, and a piano... plus some other stuff. It's pretty much all of her favorite things rolled into one slick DS game. Lizzie loves it and figured out how everything works rather quickly... that's my girl! ;)

So far she's only asked me for her pacifier once these last four days, which is totally amazing to me, but on the flip side she's been having a really hard time falling asleep without them. She doesn't cry or throw a fit or anything like that, but she just stares at the ceiling or is really fidgety all night long. Last night was one of the better nights for her, but that's because she wasn't all alone in her room. Which brings me to my other little girl.

Abby's growing way too fast and last night Ben and I assembled her beautiful crib and put it in Lizzie's room. Abby was in our room in her little travel crib that has a bassinet attachment, but she's a little over the weight limit now and obviously a little squished when she tries to move around. It was definitely time for an upgrade. Lizzie loved the fact that she had company and now her room has become the girls' room. She thinks it's pretty cool... I hope she thinks that way for a very long time! ;) They're both growing up so fast... I wish we could slow them down a little bit.
