Lizzie's Trip to the Pumpkin Patch...

This last Saturday we went to the farm, for their harvest festival, to pick out some pumpkins and just wander around outside. We all had a ton of fun that day and Lizzie was so hilarious. She's so not like her daddy at all when it comes to decision making... that little girl definitely knows what she wants ;) Lizzie would wander around the garden looking at different pumpkins, and we would ask her if she like a particular one... nope, then another... nope, nope, nope and then when she saw the perfect one for her she got all excited and started jumping up and down screaming yeah! It's was too cute. She loved putting the pumpkins in the wagon, too. Every time we looked away there would be another little pumpkin in there. She also had fun picking out one for her soon to be little sister.

Besides picking out pumpkins, which Ben of course had to have a massive one, we went on a tractor ride, watched pig races, fed the animals, ate the best homemade lemonade and mini donuts sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar I've ever had, and got seriously lost in a massive corn maze (and I do mean seriously lost... it was huge and whoever put it together was really mean and had way too much fun with it. We were in there for at least 40 minutes). I think that this will definitely become one of our family traditions for many years to come.

You can see the fruits of our labor in the nifty new banner... yup those are our carved pumpkins. It's kind of funny how having kids can make things fun again. I don't remember the last time Ben and I carved a pumpkin (or when Ben finished one anyways) ;) As you can see he didn't go all crazy and elaborate... it was simple and all four were finished in just one evening of pumpkin carving extravaganza.
